Compaq laptops were excellent. I still have one from 2000 and, yes, I cannot use modern software on it, but it still runs fine with the old software. HP wanted Compaq because in those days Compaq was a high-end brand, but they mismanaged it. ... If only they had managed the Compaq brand better!!
