1. Describe the various ways by which seeds are dispersed. Explain any one event.
2. What will happen if there are no red blood cells and platelets in the blood? Explain.
Answers
Seed Dispersal = Transport of seed away from the parent plant.
Ways of Seed Dispersal
1. Wind
Dandelion seeds are light and have feathery bristles that help them to be carried long distances by the wind.
2. Water
Some seeds have hard seed coat that allows them to float in water downstream.
3. Animals
Animals and Birds eat Fruits and drop the seeds elsewhere.
4. Explosion
Seeds of peas and flax explode with a sound when fully ripe, thus sending seeds to far off places.
5. Fire
Pine tree requires heat from fire to open their hard cones and release seeds.
- If there is no Red Blood Cells in the Blood
Red Blood Cells contain Hemoglobin that binds with oxygen present in lungs and transports oxygen to every cell in the body. Cells need Oxygen for Cellular Respiration, To break-down Glucose and produce ATP molecules. If Red Blood cells are not present, these will not happen.
- If there are no Platelets in Blood
Platelets help in coagulating blood (Blood clot) at a place of cut or injury, thus keeping the blood flow and blood pressure normal across the body.
