Do both the members of any chromosome pair have the same sequence of genes? Homologous chromosomes do, but what about the chromosome pairs in normal state in somatic cells? If yes, then how does dominant and recessive function?

Answer:
YEAH
BOTH THE CHROMOSOME HAVE SAME GENE AT THE SAME PLACE BUT THEY ARE DIFFERENT
EG : ON ONE SIDE YOU WILL HAVE GENE FOR EYE COLOUR THEN ON OTHER SIDE YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME GENE i.e EYE COLOR
BUT DOMINANT GENE WILL BE WEATHER IT IS BLACK OR BLUE OR BROWN
BLACK IS THE DOMINANT GENE OVER OTHER GENES OF EYE COLOUR
