Do cells swell or shrink when raisins are kept in water?Please give detailed Answer.

If the raisin is dry and if it is kept in the water, it will swell due to osmosis process.
As the medium surrounding the cell has more water, the water molecules will cross in both directions and it will result in swelling up of the dry raisin.
And the solution is hypotonic solution
But of it is a swollen raisin kept in water no change will take place. It will be isotonic solution

when raisins are soaked in water , they swell . all this is due to the process of osmosis . the water molecules pass the cell membrane of the raisins and they thus get swollen .....the water present around will get inside them making swell up ..... I hope u got it answer
