Actually there is some reaction that happens. There us a displacement reaction. The aqueous solution of NaCl dissociates into NaOH and HCl, while NaOH in aqueous state dissociates into Na+ and OH-. This solution is generally obtained during the electrolysis of sodium chloride solution also called as cholro-alkali process. The final displaced products are conc.NaCl and NaOH.
