⭕ Yes the excited states contributes to temperature because the molecules ions of particular atom moving with its certain velocity and when there is extra temperature applied on them than the molecules ions leave their rest state and start behaving in excited. At every 300 k temperature we applied there is always change in the movement of the molecules ions of the atom this is because of the change in the velocity when there is extra temperature applied on them.

Yes, excited states do contribute to temperature as you supply heat to the system containing the atom, it's kinetic energy will increase and it will move faster through space.

If we supply enough energy, then the electrons surrounding the atom will absorb that energy and undergo electronic transitions from the ground state to various excited states.
