No because mother has only XX chromosomes but father has both XY. so it is father's chromosomes that decide the sex of the child and not the mother's.

No, mothers have no role in determining the sex of the new born. Mothers have a pair of X chromosome and all children will inherit an 'X' chromosome from thier mother regardless of wheather they are boys or girls. Only presence or absence of y chromosome present in male gamete determines the sex of new born.
