Do inertia depends upon velocity?? Suppose a body of heavier mass is moving with less velocity as compared to the body of lighter mass which is moving with more velocity. So which body will be having more inertia?? explain. don't spam .needed urgently. Class 11 physics.

Explanation:

in general inertia doesn't depend on the speed acquired by a body

becouse inertia has nothing to do with velocity as it is only a tendency to remain in rest or motion

according to your question , small mass with great speed and large mass with low speed

no matter what speed is ! becouse inertia is here only tendency of the heavy block to remain in that slow speed and light object in high speed , so here you can say tendency of heavy object to remain in that slow speed is greater than tendency of smaller block in high speed (only because of mass)

so here it is cleared in general mass doesn't increase with speed , and no matter what high speed body acquired, inertia always depend on mass

as inertia do not see the magnitude of speed instead it only sees that it is rest or in motion

so inertia of motion is tendency of matter to remain in the motion no matter what the speed is !

but exception is also that object velocity should enough less than speed of light !
