Solution :-

→ 3x + 4y = 11 --------- Eqn.(1)

→ 4x + 3y = 12 -------- Eqn.(2)

Multiply Eqn.(1) by 4 and Eqn.(2) by 3 we get,

→ 4(3x + 4y = 11)

→ 3(4x + 3y = 12)

or,

→ 12x + 16y = 44 --------- Eqn.(3)

→ 12x + 9y = 36 -------- Eqn.(4)

Now, subtracting Eqn.(4) from Eqn.(3) we get,

→ (12x + 16y) - (12x + 9y) = 44 - 36

→ 12x - 12x + 16y - 9y = 8

→ 7y = 8

→ y = (8/7)

Putting value of y in Eqn.(1) Now,

3x + 4(8/7) = 11

→ 3x + (32/7) = 11

→ 3x = 11 - (32/7)

→ 3x = (77 - 32)/7

→ 3x = (45/7)

→ x = (15/7)

Hence,

x - y

→ (15/7) - (8/7)

→ (15 - 8)/7

→ (7/7)
