The theme "Do or Die" was given by Mahatma Gandhi. It means that either they do it or they die.Bapu told this during the fight for independence against British and told the people to either fight for independence or die.

The phrase 'do or die' has a deeper meaning in it,

A person in any situation has two options, one to do nothing and succumb to the situation and one to fight back, work hard and win over the situation.

Everyone once or multiple times comes across a situation in life when he is facing a situation coming out from which seems quite difficult. There the person has two options one to push himself little harder and free himself from the sitauation or to do nothing and quite literally die, to continue to live a life which is detrimental to his life.
