endocytosis is the injection of Material by the cells through the plasma membrane it is the collective term which describe two similar processes called phagocytosis and proto cytosis
phagocytosis(phago=eating , cytosis=in cell)
It means cell eating.
protocytosis (proto=drinking)
it means the protoplasmic intake of the cell.
both requires energy may be regarded as different form of active transport.
