Answer

\bigstar Yes, plants do respire like humans do. They require the oxygen present in oxygen for the breakdown of the food that is prepared by themselves. For breaking down of food, respiration must occur. So, plants do respire by their leaves.

\bigstar The leaves of the plant have a small pores or holes in them which acts as a nostril. It is known as stomata. It helps in the exchange of gases is the plants by inhaling the oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide.

\bigstar In the process of carbon dioxide the stomata takes in the carbon dioxide and released the oxygen. These stomata are surrounded by structures known as guard cells.

\bigstar Each leaf has a many number of stomata which does the same work. This process never ends. These stomata cannot be seen by our naked eyes but might be seen by a microscope.

\bigstar We should know that the plants also respire and inhales oxygen for respiration and inhales the carbon dioxide for the preparation of food.
