The heat capacity , Cp, of copper is 385J/kg-K, while that of iron is 444J/kg-K.

So, the same mass of iron will contain more heat energy then the mass of copper.

strictly speaking, these heat capacities are valid only at 25C, and the heat capacity is a function of temperature. The heat capacities of various substance can be using Landolt's Formula,

Cp(T) = A+BT×10^-3+CT^-2×10^5+DT^2×10^-6

Where A,B,C, D are experimentally - obtained constants which are perpendicular to the specific substance, and T is in Kelvin.
