no
light is not required
it opens for exchange of gases
automatically
with the help of water
when it opens the water collects and the stomata pores shrink
when it closes the water gets released and bulges out which leads to closing of stomata

No stomata do not require light to open. They deal with gaseous exchanges which help in the process of photosynthesis. As gaseous exchanges are independent of light, stomata doesn’t require light to open
