SOLUTION

QUESTION 1:

To Find:

20% of 500 km

Finding 20% of 500 km:

= 20/100 × 200 km

= (20 × 200)/100 km

= 4000/100 km

= 40 km

∴ 20% of 500 km = 40 km

QUESTION 2:

Given that:

Cost price = Rs 120

Selling price = Rs 108

We know,

When cost price is greater than selling price then it's loss.

Loss = Cost price - Selling price

Loss = Rs (120 - 108)

Loss = Rs 12

We also know that,

Loss percent = (100 × Loss)/Cost price %

Loss percent = (100 × 12)/120 %

Loss percent = 10 %

∴ Loss percent on selling the flower base is 10%.

QUESTION 3:

Given that:

Diameter of a circular garden = 21 m

To Find:

The length of the rope he needs to purchase if he makes 2 rounds of the fence.

We know,

Circumference of a circle = π × Diameter

But gardener makes 2 rounds of the fence.

Length of rope = 2 × π × Diameter

Length of rope = 2 × 22/7 × 21 m

Length of rope = (2 × 22 × 21)/7 m

Length of rope = 132 m

∴ Gardener needs to purchase 132 m of rope.

QUESTION 4:

Simplify:-

(2 × 3⁴ × 2⁵) / (9 × 4²)

= (3⁴ × 2⁶) / (3 × 3 × 2² × 2²)

= (3⁴ × 2⁶) / (3² × 2⁴)

= (3² × 3² × 2⁴ × 2²) / (3² × 2⁴)

Cancelling (3² × 2⁴).

= 3² × 2²

= 9 × 4

= 36

∴ (2 × 3⁴ × 2⁵) / (9 × 4²) = 36

Answer:

1) To Find:

  • 20% of 500 km

Finding 20% of 500 km:

= 20/100 × 200 km

= (20 × 200)/100 km

= 4000/100 km

= 40 km

∴ 20% of 500 km = 40 km

2) Given:

  • Cost price = Rs 120
  • Selling price = Rs 108

To find:

  • Profit or loss%

We know,

When cost price is greater than selling price then it's loss.

Loss = Cost price - Selling price

Loss = Rs (120 - 108)

Loss = Rs 12

We also know that,

Loss percent = (100 × Loss)/Cost price %

Loss percent = (100 × 12)/120 %

Loss percent = 10 %

∴ Loss percent on selling the flower base is 10%.

3) Given:

  • Diameter of a circular garden = 21 m

To Find:

  • The length of the rope he needs to purchase if he makes 2 rounds of the fence.

We know that,

Circumference of a circle = π × Diameter

But gardener makes 2 rounds of the fence.

Length of rope = 2 × π × Diameter

Length of rope = 2 × 22/7 × 21 m

Length of rope = (2 × 22 × 21)/7 m

Length of rope = 132 m

∴ Gardener needs to purchase 132 m of rope.

4) 2×3⁴×2⁵/9×4²

2¹+⁵×3⁴/3²×(2²)²

2⁶×3⁴/3²×2⁴

2⁶-⁴×3⁴-²

2²×3²

4×9 = 36 (Ans)

Hope it helps!
