Since democracy is the Government of people, by the people, and for the people , so the above statement that is " Ultimate power in a democracy rests in the hand of people " is true.
REASON :-
In a democracy, people choose their representatives who take decisions in legislative assemblies on various issues. People vote for these representatives on the basis of their policies towards the issue. Therefore by electing these representatives , people are indirectly taking a stance on the issues regarding which decisions need to be taken and therefore the decision making power ultimately rests with the people.
