=2+1)( 2+3)

=3(5)

=15

And x^2 + (a+b)x + ab

(2)^2 +( 1+3)(2) +(1)(3)

=4 +4(2)+3

=4 +8+3

=15

hence (x+a)( x+b)= x^2 +(a+b)x + ab verified
