Biome is a regional ecological organization delimited by a specific climate zone. It consists of number of ecosystems depending upon local environmental conditions and habitats. Different ecosystems are joined by transitional forms. This area is called ecotone. Different communities are similarly connected by ecolines. A same species occurring in different ecosystems of biome have regional variations which are genetically based and are called ecotypes.

Yes, regional and local variations exist within each biome. Regional and local variations within each biome lead to the formation of a wide variety of habitats. ... Even our intestine is a unique habitat for hundreds of species of microbes.
