no venusflytrap didn't prepare their own food
they usually eat insects that get attracted to the plant

Yes, the Venus flytrap produces it's own food by the means of photosynthesis and even produces the oxygen we need.. even though it's carnivorous plant, it primarily traps the insects for the essential nitrogen it requires for sustainability..
