do we call metal carbonyls as oreganometallics?why?
AbhijithPrakash:
Organometallic chemistry deals with the compounds containing more than one type of bond or only one bond bond between carbon atom of an organic compound like carbonyl, ethyl, phenyl and many more and metal. Thus, metal carbonyl are complexes that contain carbon monoxide as a ligand coordinated with metal. Due to this metal carbonyls are one of the important class of organometallic complexes and we can consider metal carbonyls as organometallic compounds.
