Hello Dude

We change the temperature and pressure of any substance while changing its state because state of any substance depends on the intermolecular forces of attraction among its atoms.

E.g. Water -It exist in liqud form at normal temperature but as the temperature is increased the intermolecular forces of attraction is decreased so it starts to change in to vapour phase.

When the temperature us brought down it starts to change in to solid form as the intermolecuar forces if attraction among its atoms increases.

Answer:

No . There is no need to change the both temperature and pressure every time to change the state of matter. This means we can change the state of matter either by changing temperature or pressure.

  1. We can liquify gases by applying pressure or reducing temperature.
  2. We can boiled water i.e. we can convert water into to water vapour by increasing temperature for decreasing pressure.
  3. We can convert water into ice by applying pressure or reducing temperature.
