When we detect sounds, or noise,our body is changing the sound waves into nerve impulses which the brain intreprets. SOUND WAVES are produced when the air is mechanically disturbed.

all Vibrating bodies produce vibrations, You can hear the sound of those that vibrate within the human limit of audible frequencies. you will not be able to hear the "sound" of other vibrating bodies, but may be some other creatures can listen to it. Point to note is that Sound is a property relative to the listener and not to the source.
