I strongly believe that you should always stand for the National Anthem. The National Anthem is a symbol of the United States of America and it unites all of us. When the National Anthem is being played, it allows Americans to have a moment of silence to show their gratitude for this country. I for one enjoy my freedoms as an American, and hope to never take them for granted.
I find it very disrespectful when one does not stand for the National Anthem. There are so many amazing things about this country that people sometimes forget are fought for. Like our FREEDOM. People like us are able to wake up every day and go on with our lives, because we have people in our Military that fight every day to make sure that we can continue to have this freedom and safety.
It’s so important to stand for the flag because people have paid the ultimate sacrifice defending it. The National Anthem is not meant to divide Americans on “If we should stand or not,” it’s meant to unite all Americans. Standing for the National Anthem is not a time for protests or politics, it’s a time to recognize how strong our country is. We are able to recognize how selfless and willing Americans are to protect this country. If we wish to continue to have these freedoms we need to show future generations that growing respect for our country is what will keep it going.
I believe that if you are on American soil you should respect what our country values and stand for the National Anthem. Americans should always strive to proudly represent their love for this country, which is OUR country. Showing how proud you are does not mean dressing head to toe in red, white, and blue, it means having a deep desire to keep the United States strong. I will always stand by my flag and I will always stand strongly on the fact that Americans should always stand for the National Anthem.
