All frogs do croaking but the intensity of croaking is different from species to species.

At breeding pools, males inflate air sacs at the sides of the head to emit a mating call that sounds nothing like the "croak" of other frogs or the chicken-like "eeep" of the smaller spring peeper (Pseudacris crucifer).
