Do you agree that Oliver was nerves imaginative person? Describe your view word

Mr. Oliver was first described as a man who was not imaginative. But later after his meet with the faceless boy... He was frightened and rushed from there hurriedly leaving his torch behind. This shows that he was horrified.
I think he was imaginative as well because maybe he was a bachelor so he would be feel lonely and seeing a cap on a rock would have thought it to be a faceless boy.
