Explanation:
the united states the coming of the aquino government seemed to make the Philippines into a success story. The evil Marcos was out, the saintly Cory was in, the worldwide march of democracy went on. All that was left was to argue about why we stuck with our tawdry pet dictator for so long, and to support Corazon Aquino as she danced around coup attempts and worked her way out of the problems the Marcoses had caused.

Yes, I agree that Philippine culture is damaged culture.
- The Philippine culture we know today is a fledgling culture compared to ancient cultures.
- When Spain left Philippines, they did not leave strong cultural foundations that would persist. And Americans also tried to “start from scratch” by Americanization of Filipinos, and as a result left behind a confused set of "brown Americans but not Americans”.
- People of Philippine are still struggling with a national identity which is a symptom of a damaged culture. There are no inter-regional wars between people but there are inter-regional cultural differences that lead to discrimination and fights.
- There is no nationalism, no sense of oneness among each other. Filipinos even betrayed their own people during the fight for independence.
Hence, I agree that Philippine culture is a damaged culture.
