Yes, I do agree with the concept of "reseved constituency". Reserved Constituencies are where people belonging to the scheduled tribes/scheduled castes who can "contest the election".

Explanation:

  • A nation is split into several different administrative units or areas. The districts are defined as each area in which elections are conducted. Those who reside in a district elect from their constituency their own representative.
  • A "reserved constituency" is one wherein reserved for "scheduled castes & tribes in both Assembly & Parliamentary Elections.  General candidates are not permitted to "contest elections" from these "constituencies".
  • For decades, weaker sections who get electoral quotas or reservation have been "discriminated against". Therefore, if the representatives amongst them are not elected, our "Parliament & State Legislative" Assemblies would have been deprived of the voice of a "significant section" of the society.
  • Reserved constituencies were set up since the need was felt that in an "open electorate system" people belonging to weaker sections of society may would not get a "fair chance" to "contest & win" elections. Influential, rich & powerful people can prevent the certain weaker caste/tribe people from contesting elections that goes against the Constitution's  democratic spirit.
