Yes, i agree with the term merry devil for launcelot because his speech has a comic effect in the act and he indirectly said many negative things about Shylock which shows that he hates Shylock because he is a jew.

Jessica was sorry for leaving Shylock's house because she was betraying his father by stealing his money, precious jewels ,and also the ring which Leah (Shylock's wife) gave Shylock when he was a bachelor.
