Since a consumer is an important participant in the market, therefore, his rights must be protected in case of consumer exploitation.

In order to raise the voice of the consumers, the government of India has enacted the Consumer Protection Act on 24th December 1986.

This act aims in protecting the rights of the consumers and ensures free trade in the market.

I surely agree with the view of this act because it creates awareness and educates consumers about their rights, enhances the status of the consumers and thus protects them from exploitation.
