The word "superstitions"does not have a definite meaning. You may have to be more specific to get a more meaningful answer

"Superstition" is defined (in my computer's dictionary) as "excessively credulous belief and reverence for supernatural beings" or alternatively "a widely held but unjustified belief in supernatural causation". Some people limit the notion of "superstition " to things like the fear of the numbers 13 or 666, the fear of walking under a ladder, having a black cat cross your path and so on.

I do not have a fear for all those things, but I believe in God (as a Catholic).Given the loose definition of "superstition", an "atheist" (who may well fear walking under a ladder, would not accept room 666 at an hotel or stay at home on Friday 13th) may label me as "superstitious" as s/he believes that "God" does not exist. On the other hand I would label the "atheist" as "superstitious" for having an "irrational fear"of meaningless symbols or events that cannot possibly affect his/her life. I routinely walk under ladders (unless there is someone working and I am likely to get drops of paint and so on), would either not notice or deem as immaterial if I were given room 666 at an hotel and would sometimes forget it is Friday 13th.

In this context , who is superstitious? Me or the "atheist"?For some the two of us are both "superstitious"! For others only the "atheist" is superstitious and I am  not as I believe in a "God" who "exists" while the "atheist" believes in "things" that "do not exist".. For others still, none of us is "superstitious".

Hope it will help you.
