Depends what program you have. What stylus you use. How large the screen is. Makes it easier.

I do sketches and doodles on my phone when i am bored and have no paper. Still use them in my work. Reference or just what I drew.

It is just another medium. Same thought process as drawing on paper. Difference is digital pen /stylus to a screen.
