Yes, We feel sympathy with the character Lencho because of his simplicity of mind and his innocence.
Out of sheer innocence he asked for the debt from God and when he got some money from the post master he could understand that it is someone else who has arranged the money.
His simplicity evokes pure joy but at the same time his sheer ignorance evokes laughter.
