No, I do not feel well-represented in Pakistan
Explanation:
- In Pakistan it is more like a hybrid democarcy since the constitution apart from democratic rules also has rules based on the principles of Islam. In the year 1999, Pakistan General Pervez Musharaff had seized and taken control of he then civilian govt, and declared himself as the President by way of a referendum which was based on fraud and malpractices. Although Pakistan has had elections and the elected representative to the national & provincial assemblies have some power, but the final power rested with the military. The elected representative had no power to take final decisions. This kind of regime is called dictatorship. In a democracy the "final decision-making power" rests with those the people elect.
- Because of the army generals, Pakistan is not considered a democratic republic. They assume that populism will kill reputation there and cannot make profits. You make money from the government as a puppeteer. In the region, you control everything. The economy, media, schooling and even commerce. And if someone goes to them, they have to abandon work or face difficult circumstances. The military advises the media about commerce, schooling and other essential things not within the expertise of the army.
