• There is a system of diverse cardholders in ration shops.  

• The ration shop allocates different types of cards depending on the freights opted for.  

• For instance, in the southern state Tamil Nadu, white cardholders are not able to buy rice with their ration cards. They are able to buy only sugar and dal with their cards.
