Do you include the senior citizens in your celebrations and other facilities. How?

In India, the age-old custom of taking care of old parents and other older members of the family is gradually dying out. This is largely due to the breaking down of the joint family system, children living in far off places in search of work and smaller family size. However, as life span of people is increasing by the day due to improvement in medical facilities, the problem of taking care of senior citizens is becoming a problem.
However, I try to do my part in making the elderly people in my family as well as in our residential complex feel cared for and happy in my own small way. During festivals, along with my friends I help them to come down to the community hall and participate in the celebrations. For those that are too weak and infirm, we make it a point to deliver Prasad and sweets to give them a feel of the joyous occasions. The senior citizens and their attendants have also been told to inform us in case they need help and support in case of an emergency. We have also organised special facilities to be made available at short notice like wheelchairs, ambulances and doctors on call.
