ankitshankar: Dear Sakshi, kindly check your answer again. You may use internet or any basic electronics fundamental book for understanding the concept of a ac to dc converter. Your answer may confuse other people. Thank you.
ankitshankar: The current drawn by a charger at no-load is in milli-amperes. If you save them for years, all you will be able to do is light a bulb for few minutes.

When charger is plugged in and not connected to phone, it acts as a transformer on No-Load. But since one side of the transformer,i.e, the primary side draws current, it uses a very low amount of electricity which is negligible.

So it depends upon you. If you want to save even milli-watts of energy, unplug the charger. Practically it doesn't effects anything.
