Music for me is melody, harmony and rhythm. I grew up listening to Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh, Asha Bhosle … The lyrics had deep meaning, the songs soothing. Little later, I was introduced to English songs. I was attracted to Cliff Richards, Bryan Adams, never enticed by Michael Jackson, Madonna. I preferred softer music and meaningful lyrics over groovy and loud.

As I matured, I developed a taste for gazals. Nothing beats listening to Jagjit Singh
