Answer:

Yes! Here is your answer!

Explanation:

Absolutely. You can think of your teachers as friends, but you have to do so while respecting teacher-student boundaries.

Obviously, every teacher is different. Some will encourage a friendly relationship, whereas others will prefer a more strict, professional, student-teacher relationship. Regardless of which approach your teacher makes, they’re not bad guys. You have to respect their decision.

For example, I had a high school teacher that offered to buy us a beer, after we graduate and turn 18. I had a teacher that played xbox games during lunch breaks, with students. I had a teacher that made homemade soaps for students, as it was their hobby. I had a teacher that gossiped with the students— a lot of teachers, actually. I had teachers that took the time to now their students’ affairs, the lives, their troubles and worries, their home situation.

And I had some teachers that were just there, simply to teach.

If you want to think of your teacher as your friend, go for it. Bring them sandwiches, talk to them about your problems, and be friends, but remember to respect student-teacher relationships. This means not doing something silly like pulling your teacher’s pants down for a joke, or using profanity around them. You might curse a lot in front of your friends, but don’t do so around your teachers. Again, respect boundaries.
