Yes. For the last 13 odd years or so. I think I started reading it regularly back when I was in 5th standard. I loved it. Every day, as soon as I came back from school, before even changing my school’ uniform, I used to give anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour to just reading the newspaper. There was little I actually understood at that time. I mean, I was able to grab (on a superficial level) basic news pieces and even when other politics related/economy related/sports related/editorials pieces I couldn’t understand fully, I still read it. Slowly, but gradually I began understanding things. For a considerable period of time, I wanted to become a journalist (print media specifically) cause this was something I could see myself doing even when I was 15 years old and I would have went on to pursue journalism but science got the better of me and I ended up in biological sciences. I loved reading sports pieces on Tennis and Cricket. I especially loved the description of the matches of Nadal. It was probably from where my love for Nadal came. Yep. It started from getting to read about him, and then watch him play on television. I read pieces on almost every sport the paper printed, even if I didn’t have any special liking for it, like Golf, Formula 1, Football, Hockey, Swimming, Archery, Snooker, Billiards. I remember once watching an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire) and there was this question for a considerable amount and it’s answer was Pankaj Advani. I fail to remember the question as it was quite a while back but as soon as the options came on screen, I blurted out ‘Pankaj Advani’ on the top of my voice as all the other sportsperson were of entirely different sport than of the one mentioned in the question. I knew it, not because I followed Pankaj Advani but because I had read about him numerous times.

To this day, I spend almost an hour or so (sometimes even 2) going through the newspaper.
