First and foremost, a kind person. This is lacking in too many and is number one in my book.
(2) Genuinely cares about the patient, in a deeper way that just "treating"…cares in the off-hours too.
(3) has a great breadth of knowledge and experience, or, at very least, makes an extraordinary effort to research and theorize about a patients condition, more so than the average provider would.
