yes, biology can help us to develop new high yielding varieties of food crops as we have seen many examples from green revolution. we now have better wheat, jowar, rice varieties. we have developed tissue culture saplings for sugarcane to prevent various stem borne diseases. we have developed BT varieties of crops that have its own pest fighting mechanism, lesser the harm to crop more the yield. we can also culture food on nutrient medium, in recent research researcher have successfully grown meat on nutrient medium from few cells. in same way we can grow other vegetable or edible things. in addition, we all know that by inserting dna fragments of particular protein or enzyme in E.coli will act as a mini factory of that particular substance and this is all boon of biology.
