Valuable Knowledge

Knowledge is like the glue that sticks information as well as learning together. When we have prior knowledge about a topic, we understand it better. It plays an important role in students’ life, especially in school. If they don’t have related knowledge, they face difficulties in understanding the text.

  • General Knowledge  helps children in developing their knowledge about what is happening in the world. Its main advantage is that they can relate background knowledge with contextual one.
  • Background knowledge enables the readers to have more options between multiple meanings of words.
  • Discussions and envisagement are also helpful in developing the conceptual knowledge of students. This helps in collecting different views and information about the world.
  • Many good books are filled with a lot of information which consists of deep meanings of the words and are filled with a good amount of knowledge. Background knowledge about the geographical settings of a place, history, political movements, religious and cultural environment of the world might not be learned in the textbooks being taught in schools. Even the languages used in these books make a huge difference in understanding the text.
  • Teachers can engage students in different activities which will help to understand their prior knowledge. This will also generate curiosity in them to learn and connect with the subject. With background knowledge, it becomes easier to create learning sessions for students which textbooks can’t do.

Learn to apply the knowledge in lives

Knowledge empowers people and the successful application of knowledge brings wisdom. I constantly learn new things and most times generate new ideas from what I have learned. Learning is enjoyable for me and successful people know that there is no end to learning. Knowledge without its application is useless. It is important that we make impactful use of what we learn and the knowledge that we have acquired.

Learning and knowledge shape our minds and make us become better users of opportunities. Knowledge is the driver of the global economy; almost everything has shifted from commodity-based to knowledge-based. Successful people are knowledge-thirsty people because knowledge increases their values. Most people fail to learn new things about their jobs, their spouses, businesses, lifestyles, and expectations. This can only lead us not to meeting up to our potentials.  We cannot give what we do not have and what we do not know can make us disadvantaged at some point.

Constant learning opens up the mind and renews the way we think and view our world. The world is constantly changing and it is important to know how these changes affect you. It is important to narrow or focus on what can be of help to you and others. It is important to broaden your knowledge on diverse topics than just being an expert in one area of study in life.

Apart from knowledge; its successful application will be a function of your level of understanding of the capacity of what the knowledge you have acquired can do for you. Having a great understanding of your environment will make you an important and influential person in your time. Understanding the difference between the wants and needs of the people and institutions within and around you is crucial for the growth and development of our nation.
