Fowler was not a good judge of character. He had followed Ausable in hope of finding him to be a great detective and spy, expecting he would look like James Bond, slim and fit driving a car having advanced weapons and features. However, he found Ausable quite an ordinary guy with a pot belly, doing ordinary things like an ordinary man.
