How Grateful we could have felt are:-

1. Only 14 per cent of total population in British India was given the right to Vote. Considering Indian Princely Provincial Autonomy, Prime areas of administration were left outside their jurisdiction.

2. Defense and Foreign affairs were outside the jurisdiction.

3. The Governors of state were to be appointed by the British Government. Usually, they were English. Moreover, they had veto power over legislative and administrative actions performed by provincial ministers.

There was no aspiration towards building India as a nation. It became the same fight of Provincial states versus British states.
