Yes, it is very much essential to preserve folk art traditions when tv and films are becoming the dominant forms of environment. This is because the culture should be preserved for our upcoming generations otherwise they will never be aware of the rich traditions and customs that was followed by their ancestors. Even though TV and films are dominant, but even they both have incorporated the folk art of dance, music, drama, etc, in their scenario in one way or the other.
