Power of Police during revolt:
Yes, Police should be allowed to suppress revolts, if they turn violence and threaten public property and safety.
Explanation:
- Police are assembled, implemented, trained and disciplined to face crowds, protests, revolts or uprisings.
- They may be used as their name suggests, to control riots, disperse and control crowds, maintain public order, deter crime, and protect persons/property.
- The police should only be allowed to exercise this right for dire situations that require the enforcement of law and to maintain public health and safety.
- This power given to the police is immense and should be used with extreme control so as to avoid any kind of violation.
