The 'French-Indian War' as it's called here in the States was started to protect the interests of the North American colonists. Seeing as the british had gone into debt protecting the colonists (And the fact that other colonies had it much worse) The taxation of the 13 colonies seems fair to me.

The main problem the Americans had with taxation is their lack of input on the laws being made. Not the taxes themselves.
