Kanta thought about equality in a democratic country:

Kanta, a poor worker, does domestic works to earn for her living. She lives on a minimum wage, and experiences troubles in the society. Though she lives in a democratic country, she thinks that she is not treated equally.

Three reasons are as follows,

  • It is because that when her daughter is ill, she couldn't take leave from work. Since she has to borrow money from the employer, she could not take leave from work.
  • She lives in basti which is never cleaned.
  • She has to stand in queue in government hospital to consult doctor for her daughter whose  situation is emergency
