Before the invention ,

  1. The books were handwritten. So only less no.of.books can be produced
  2. The books were costlier so only the rich people can afford it
  3. the books were fragile. they can't be handled easily.
  4. Many people found it difficult to afford and use. so peoples were not able to gain knowledge.

After the invention,

  1. The books were produced in large number
  2. The books were cheaper by cost. So all people can afford it.
  3. After invention, many people were interested in writing and printing books . so different types of books were published and many people could develop their knowledge.
  4. The books were also read aloud in public places so those who were unable to read also gained knowledge.
  5. Workers in industries had a hobby of reading books after their working hours and leisure times as the cost of books were cheaper.

So we can conclude that after the invention of printing press by Gutenberg the books were read and heard by many people and the knowledge spread in higher rate.
