Yes. I think literature and music are as important as other study. In fact, it seems to be much better. Music makes us enjoy and at the same time concentrate on study. Literature helps us improve our English by introducing new words into our vocabulary but we also enjoy reading stories, won't we? Literature also helps in making our own feelings into words. As I already said, it improves our vocabulary, we can express more things. When the two are combined, while listening to music if we write something, that particular story would be amazing. This is the reason why most writers and even scholars loved music.
